Melissa Munich-Droz was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She graduated from the University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras Campus with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science in 2004. She attended Inter-American University of Puerto Rico School of Law in San Juan, Puerto Rico and graduated with a Juris Doctor in 2008. She was awarded the Harvey Nachman Recognition as the most distinguished student in the Legal Aid Clinic Program for the 2007-2008 academic year. While in law school, Melissa served as the Treasurer for the Student Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and clerked with Hon. Yolanda Doitteau – Chief Family Court Judge of San Juan Superior Court in 2006. She also did an internship as an adjudicator with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Washington, DC in 2007. After finishing law school, Melissa moved to Huntington, West Virginia where she started working with Proctor Law Offices, PLLC. During her time with Proctor Law Offices, Melissa also worked with the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals as a Guardian Ad Litem. Melissa moved to the State of Texas in 2017 and joined Underwood Law Office in 2018. Melissa is fluent in both English and Spanish.
