You are entitled to past due benefits when you are successful in the Social Security Disability process. Typically under the SSDI program benefits will go back to your date of disability. Under the SSI program it’ll go back to the day you applied for disability benefits. Sometimes your back pay and especially under SSDI program can be quite substantial.
